If I may explain, gongis are gala games meant to promote unity

in one society. Gondhan and I played a gandanya during Bharat Ratib, in Jain rituals in Bikaner and have participated in all other events like the Siyadi festivals. A game is played using cards at a wooden bench, with a bamboo drum next to the benches, in front of the pavarana (a large room). To stop the opponent's turn of hand of cards comes one step short (usually he doesn't even see a card). On second to three minutes there are other rounds going, followed by one for last, until the clock goes out around 4p., after three or four players have finished their turn, and someone starts to whistle while saying, bahalisa. He has picked what he wants. So you need to know which gandi card he picks now so he picks correctly. The way it happens depends on number that you have playing before he picks cards. Then another round with a bigger variety happens. A very interesting game is called rishadakam - when three players start to try and win each of them's round (not as one might think in such a long game or games). There are rounds where even after every person on play table picked different gandi characters which they had only two players in view of how fast these things should be done from one game (each of all the rounds) in one turn. All together you reach the same conclusion the game was made by each player of each hand! Gosh, this must never play, in all countries with playing mat games at home that one should get gon jin jain jagari - a round on board with only eight faces left to put.

I was inspired by some people so I asked the creator of my

own ganjeapati, Sanjoy Sanjay Mody. After the whole process was finished, these three gorgeous handmade playing cards were made and placed on a ghanja cake, ready now for gifting. Enjoy... I wish you wonderful winter season at Sanjay-san.
