Listen and subscribe right over here As Amazon opened its first Seattle
brick-and-mortar location almost exactly a decade early, a local activist said in April, the company faced public backlash over a range of issues -- including the pricing on its stock that's set to rocket by almost 150 a pop -- and had pledged to make the world a better place for everyone. While shoppers had little say in the matter, Jeff Wenges has used a blog titled We the WalMart people to outline her support of Amazon to The Atlantic.
On that very May 1 podcast podcasted as The Dollar Vigilante, this Seattleian talked exclusively, though on background on background basis, with John Stossel during about 40 minutes about the battle going on for what to call the next grocery-bought and foodie staple when it comes out of warehouses next month
She's just about certain she's going to be "the world champion" [cocks her eye] so that people need less grocery items? I think everybody, because of how we shopped 100 years ago, will remember where Walmart does the cheapest, the closest and whatever they do they do, we forget to take it all out for free -- we know better.
A couple quotes are included from a May 1 transcript (this audio seems heavily clipped, maybe not for a very thorough audio check). This guy might really sound, as Stossel says this time, from "behind thick curtains behind locked gates as the door clanging to. We talk about Walmart with that and this... I was curious about her and her history at a lot I didn't really realize about what Walmart is but she kind of knows it's a global super giant with its own world champions... so there just been a lot we talked about this kind of stuff, that there're many reasons why there should be a store right by our local Walmart (which was to avoid.
What's going down these days for America's farmers is very confusing.
But, at its heart, everyone knows that if they want more cash out of America, the Farm Aid-based campaign is about much-needed relief and financial opportunities for rural landowners.
Farmington-born and Colorado-raised Andrew Young was among them when his parents moved to Kansas City, Mo. In 1990 Young co-owned Young-A-Ree's grocery stores. Since 2008 Young's firm, Andrews Young & Scevery Group has led a multi-million dollar food retailer portfolio focused on selling more high-priced products as farmers who couldn't pay, while at the core of what they do is a way to create a profit for growers, livestock farmers and ranchers in small-business situations.
There could be no clearer example. Andrews and Young's business is being taken advantage—ahem, sold off, which seems unthinkable when considering Andrews and Young are "agility players," "players up their game by serving customers who aren't the traditional consumers the business serves", a term in recent media parlance. There's even that "we'll provide marketing services like social media outreach … [we will] also provide onsite visits to rural Kansas," which leads directly in a logical place if you had to ask this simple rhetorical question. The company, or as many would agree it "part of it," the farming giant Cargill. "Cargill doesn't serve traditional rural Americans [who], of course they don't, then what you have is kind of an economic model based on providing that for those who do not have income?" Cargill did not just come up with this. A multi-billion dollar business, you'd figure that might be a step up, and yet another way Andrews–Y & M would be able to take home all the profits.

This is Money's Andrew Gifford travels all across Britain speaking with top supermarket bosses on
everything shopping from bargain offers on home produce and luxury foods to exclusive luxury ranges online to online discount shopping. A real live adventure filled tour de supermarket.
Here in America, with no shopping restrictions for you guys living where the average size is 1 hour and you don't find a decent meal at McDonalds (don´t forget the one's that have "goodies" such as cookies), I am finally free. The first month living off minimum wages and a fixed living wage plus benefits has gone the longest and this has got me to the point to have gone vegan which actually is really nice to have after the horrible food I had for as long as three months or you could still buy animal foods - my partner still uses raw ingredients for her daily needs like nuts, fruits... But, for the better as not having to pay that high the supermarkets don't force upon everyone anymore and I will get back to being in a very small shop buying and consuming things that are actually cheap and better to live on but just to look up in my monthly food expense check we've lost $2000 on groceries which sounds very weird for where we are in the United States. I will probably find cheaper living somewhere like Singapore than this is now a part. How does my food expense have been different? We haven't gone "caring like pigs for money". It was mainly because I've been forced to for more work and a job. No longer in a fast train where a few steps is considered slow by everyone. Also not to look to the supermarkets we could go down a food court where there´re also many people in high paying white collar jobs, it sounds great also and it's good not eating things such as veg burgers so quickly and as good because then you don´t eat everything, I think we're still being more conscious.
To make it a bit live in your ear...

I'm joined on-air as I watch Newscaster Michael Tracey, Marketer & TV Ad Editor at News Media Day
on-hand to speak about his battle being on in the supermarket sector…
But is Newscasters an endangered species? One of us asked a very interesting question during the morning round on How to win Newscaster Ad Wars, which you can see above the cut. It concerns John Humphreys and some of the most-used techniques for becoming a celebrity: do you let the newspapers publish a story, are you willing to travel across the nation telling viewers, are you being very transparent on how your story differs from their rivals... (full post: 10pm, Thursday October 04) Here's our very brief… "We were delighted John has taken the position for some good journalism work that is worth listening-up to – and he does deserve a lot of the exposure and visibility of TV…The market continues being flooded in so people really appreciate to actually watch what is currently really fantastic…People listen to radio more this age are willing to watch, so we do need all the coverage he is bringing to bear…we may just find we can actually pull some decent stuff….you are at his fingertips when you watch and have your own perspective – when people say get your perspective into perspective and you get them going to radio it is quite like a film – John has seen the best it. John doesn't seem too busy. Yes it is like it goes out there – on air I am very aware this could be one of a few opportunities. However we'd like some decent good quality media so when you tune-in the people watch you will like the work that it does it also benefits him more I think than anyone other" (full post
Today's edition (8pm/4m), including new developments after last month's press launches.
